I mean I don't get who they are trying to impress by locking all those threads, most threads are funny and add to the enjoyment of the forum but get locked because it might be too much of a joke or whatnot but I mean who are they trying to impress?

Which threads in particular are you mentioning?

Sometimes threads are locked because there is already a topic for it and sometimes they are irrelevant to the forum.

It's not about impressing anyone. It's a question of maintaining a level of quality. In order to maximize the potential of this forum, it's necessary to have it organized in the best possible way. Troll threads, duplicate threads and threads that in general shouldn't exist, will be locked in order to help the overall quality of the board.

Mods lock threads way too often usually without explanation. It gets very annoying and the locking is very inconsistent.

Also, just because trolls come in and say "ibtl" or "in before the lock" doesn't mean that the mods have to lock it.

Then there's the agenda locking. If a Rose had a bad shooting night thread is created, you'll most likely see a Bulls mod locking it.

A lot of times it's a duplicate thread or something that is already being discussed in a game thread.

I trust the judgement of The Moderators.

If you feel a thread should not have been locked, please let me know and I'll look at it.

I sure will.

Also, instead of locking threads, I suggest mods move threads to the appropriate forum more often.

Moderators sometimes do that when they feel it is appropriate and when that Forum's Moderators are ok with having the thread on their forum.

Doctor MJ decides to lock the thread out of no where. He then warns that there shouldn't be any more future of Marshon Brooks threads even though there weren't any active in the General Discussion forum.

That thread had a fun discussion going with people actually posting content and cool videos. Why lock it?

There is no way to defend Doctor MJ. It was a stupid lock. He did nothing by locking the thread but discourage posters.

Doctor MJ has no control of locking topics on the General Board, this topic was moved to his board from the General Board (99% positive), and ultimately he felt there was enough Brooks discussions currently on the player comparison board at the time. I personally have no problem with the thread, but I also have no idea if post had been reported from the thread, and if the discussion started to decline as the thread progressed.

I trust the judgement of the Moderators on these issues.

We allow constructive criticism but there are users who already have a bunch of warnings stacked up and like to complain and blame everyone else for their conduct.
