Post quality on General Board is getting increasingly awful. I feel like I cannot have a civilized discussion without being drowned out or flamed by ridiculous posters. When I read through General Board, I just laugh at how ridiculous some of the posts are.

What my proposed solution is to have an exclusive General NBA Board in which moderators can grant access to posters that have insightful and meaningful posts free of trolling/flaming. This would not only give a place for great insightful posters to have discussion, but give incentive for posters to try to increase their post quality to possibly be invited to join the board. Now whether or not the board should be public, I'm not so sure. Showing it off could show people what good discussion is, but could also foster jealousy and elitism.

I'm sure all the mods' posts meet the standard of quality that the exclusive General Board will have.

Can you imagine how terrible the regular Gen NBA board would become?

We are working on some changes to the GB. In fact, this has been a work in progress for a while.

We mods, have felt for a long time that the GB is lacking alot of quality and needs a lot of help. Not only internally within the mod team, but also from the posters themselves.

We are not moving in a direction to have a private GB, but more so making the current GB harder to post and access from trolls, noobs, spammers, etc..

It's a work in progress, but we are working on it.

If we made a private forum for the General NBA Forum, it would take away from the main forum.

We are working on some remedies to improve the forum though.

Harsher moderation is one option that you guys could try, although I'm sure how that would help.

I agree with others that the quality is pretty low on the main board, I've started to not go there as much because of it.

I like the idea of a private board though.

The private forum will not happen but we are working on some more remedies for The General NBA Forum.
