RealGM

I am probably alone on this, but I think there should be regional links for MLS soccer teams.

Example: On the Knicks boards, have a link for the New York Redbulls.

We currently do not have MLS Forums.

It's possible we could have a Soccer Sub-Forum for MLS in the future.

Any idea if RealGM is ever going to update their forums so Soccer is not just one big topic? Maybe it can be broken down into Sub-Forums?

Example: English Premier League, Bundesliga, MLS etc.

We will see what happens and if there is enough interest.

The thing is there is a site called Bigsoccer.com forum. It would be hard for RealGM to compete with a site that specializes on just soccer. I'm a big fan of soccer myself.

I know, but RealGM probably does not have the biggest NFL boards or NHL boards either, but it still is nice to have for when you want to step out of basketball talk.

I guess RealGM will make it one of their major sports if they ever get Wiretap Headlines for it.

We currently have no plans to do this for soccer but anything could happen in the future.

Thanks and we are going to explore spinning off the forum into different leagues.

at the moment, soccer is my #2 sport. i keep trying to peruse the soccer forum but it is so littered with "official thread of .....," that i get lost too quickly. im just not that interested in other leagues right now. it'd be nice if soccer were to have the same layout as the rest of the sports on realgm. id definitely frequent the place more often.

Do you mean separate boards for each league?

We are going to look into slowly doing this as I do want to expand when the time is right.

yes. something like that. i realize that is a big bite to chew though, with all the leagues and teams around the world. and realgm traffic might not be enough to split up soccer into as many parts as it deserves.

but if soccer were to be given its own section like nfl, nhl, and mlb it would make browsing soccer a little easier and maybe induce more traffic?

ive mentioned before. Startng off with a forum for every league might be too much. Certain leagues including the MLS league, don't get much attention.
I would start by splitting the boards into an international teams forum and a club forum with a thread for each league.
If we show more activity than you could do a forum for each separate league, but for now that would split up the group of people that we do have. Most of us unite to watch the champions league and the world cup.

I am going to look into things more with The Soccer Moderators after The World Cup.

I do want to expand but slowly.
