Warning/Suspension for Knee-jerk Postgame Threads

Post#1 » by NyCeEvO » Sun May 20, 2012 5:36 am

I know the mods are doing the best they can (and I support pretty much everything you guys do), but I was wondering if we could increase the penalties for these knee-jerk postgame threads on the GB.

Before the game is even over, most posters know that at least a few people are going to make some nonsensical, kneejerk threads reacting to what happened in the game that just ended.

Most posters know that all talk about the game should go in the gamethread (or maybe we can use postgame threads too), but some of them intentionally make new kneejerk threads just to get the mods to do more work, as was stated by some OPs of threads yesterdays.

I think RealGM could benefit if an announcement was made stating that anyone who creates a kneejerk or nonsensical thread right after a game ends should receive at least a 24 or 48 hr suspension (and increasing penalties for repeat offenders).

It may seem a bit extreme but I think it's the only way to clean up the number of dumb post-game threads created by people who are just doing it for jokes or just to annoy the mods.

Just a thought...

It's really tough, friend. Being a mod is like being a NBA ref, one way or another, one side is going to disagree with you. And well, the mods can't be there all the time. Plus, let's be honest. Isn't seeing the crazy "Kobe is too old" threads a part of what makes RealGM so great?

NyCeEvO,

The General NBA Forum is a difficult place to moderate.

It's possible we might do this.

We already have a pretty tight reign on the forum but are open to get even tighter.
