There is a 100-day waiting period after registration.

chiefkeef,
We did this so new users could adapt to our community before posting on the forum as the rules are very strict.
You should be able to post in less than a month from now.

What's the point of registering if you can't post in the forum?????? As far as I know most other features are still available to non registered members. This kind of BS makes me want to not use the website.

You can still post on any other board. Go do that!

I think this was one of the better policies implemented. I can only imagine how many just registered ballboys would be flooding the GB to give their take on this current lebron streak.

D.Brasco,
In addition to keeping returners away from the forum, we felt it would help new users adjust to our forums and it seems to be working.
Thank you for the kind words.

Re: General board posting
Sorry for bumping this thread but I have a question related to it:
If I were to verify that a NBA player made an account through a video interview, would they also have to wait the 100 day period before posting on the GB? I would love to involve them in a REALGM version of a live twitter Q&A interview session
EDIT: I may have the opportunity to have interviews with several players in the offseason but will know more in a month
Thanks for putting up with me, have a great day!

Re: General board posting
Dr Pepper,
There is no way currently to manually allow a new user to post on The General NBA Forum before the 100 day period.
As for doing interviews with NBA Players, I am not sure The General NBA Forum would be the best place to do them and if you did somewhere, you'd have to have a good way to verify them.
We will see but no problems in putting up with you, I am here to help all users.

Re: General board posting
2 questions....
1. Was it a glitch or something? I was posting on the GB earlier and all of a sudden I can't post on there anymore. Heck I even made the Game thread for tonights games.
2. What's up with this annoying Suspension thing under my avatar? Will it ever go away?

You were suspended for a personal attack, it was not a glitch.

I'm not talking about the suspension, King Cuban already told me about that and even said that if I get one more strike then I'm banned from the GB...I was talking about being able to start new topics & reply to threads on the GB...And my second question was how long does that suspension thing last under my avatar?

Here is what King Cuban sent me...

I understand, but dont let trolls get the best of you next time, as two warnings on the GB will take away your posting rights on that board.
As to the suspended thing, im not sure. Its a glitch in our system that Howard is working on.
It still says you're suspended, but i can confirm you're not, so just ignore it in the interim.

Hmm, contact Howard, because as far as I can see, you only have one strike/warning on the GB.
May be a technical issue.

Re: General board posting
There's a glitch with that, it won't go away unless the admins manually change it.
As to your posting, it sounds like something Howard will have to look into. Have you tried again since I responded?

Yep and it still won't let me post and I've been posting on the GB since the ASG...

Re: General board posting
Alright, well it looks like Howard is going to have to take a look and see what happened. Maybe you got accidentally put on Read-Only Access after the suspension. Given that you can post elsewhere, that's what it sounds like to me.
