So what is the policy on mods deleting your reports without any contact as to why?

When a report is closed, most mods leave the default "notify" option on, letting oh know who closed it so you can ask them about it. I closed a report earlier today after issuing a warning and I don't ever directly first the poster who issued he report, for one example.
