Disclaimer: Yes I understand not everyone likes hashtags and things like that, this is just a cool idea I figured might help people find certain things they want to find on the forum.

My idea : Have clickable hashtags that you can click and see ANY other post on the whole forum who used the same hashtag.

Example post:

Posted on the Knicks Board:

I think we should give Iman Shumpert a contract extension, start the movement #ExtendShump

Now if someone were to post #ExtendShump somewhere else..

Posted on the General Board:

What do you think about if the Knicks #ExtendShump

Now, lets say someone clicks the hashtag from the GB, now it loads a page up of other posts with the hashtag #ExtendShump and comes up with the topic on the Knicks board.

Obviously this is a very small example, as people can use more general hashtags and allow them to be more useful such as #BAT (Build A Team) maybe to get interest from other parts of the forum about a BAT or any other possibilities.

(I know this isn't 100% my idea as its been done on both Twitter and Facebook)


Feedback is appreciated on the idea.

I think it would be cool but we should probably try to get into modern age forums with a working search function first then focus on intangibles like this.

True, I forget about these things when I come up with ideas lol.

We will have to wait for a new version of phpBB before we can implement these search ideas.
