Aha! So it does work!
So this is a way to low-key give someone an And1 on a post that might be too controversial or inflammatory for you to want to have your name in the post's And1 list. The poster doesn't get credit in their And1 total, but they at least get a notification that indicates, yes, brother, I support you, even though it's just too dangerous to show it publicly. We can form secret alliances this way.
