Obviously the need for attention has been a huge part of the board lately, is it really to provocative to have a discussion as to why?

It wasn't a troll thread. This on is, but I think you guys were quick to the jump there.

I don't see what was wrong with that thread it's true that fans become emotionally attached to their teams (like saying we instead of they) and it can lead to inferiority when they have several losing seasons

I don't agree that the constant questioning about the city with athletes has to do with any "Toronto mentality", whatever that means. In my opinion it has more to do with the fact the there was a stigma attached to the Raptors being a foreign team. I think since we're the only team in the league that's not from the US we do have certain disadvantages. It also has to do with the fact that this team has been irrelevant since Carter, so we don't get any media coverage over there.

That is the cause for the inferiority complex that a lot people have. Whenever the team gets mentioned over there it means we're becoming relevant. I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to be accepted.

FWIW, sometimes threads aren't locked because the topic itself is explicitly not permitted so much as that it has degenerated or not going anywhere. There's a very simple answer to the question in that thread, too, so that's another consideration. It's not really a substantive topic, the conversation wasn't going anywhere special, it's not a major leap to why it was locked.
