Thread lock inquire

Can anyone inform me as to why this older thread was locked? I brought up the history of the Cavs purchase history and the 3 pick deal that was given to them at the time, and wondered if another deal possibly transpired. I did not make A thing up. Maybe the mod that locked it did not know that specific history of said deal with the Cavs and he had a quick trigger, but it's unknown to me who or why it was locked. I logged back In today after a long while and saw a notification that alerted me to that thread.

Thanks if anyone could shed some insight as to what is allowed and what isn't.

As this was essentially a troll thread with no hope of fostering positive discussion, and since the first response was a warning-worthy derailing GIF, the thread was locked to prevent further nonsense detracting from the quality of the board. Not sure why you expected that thread to go anywhere positive/productive.
