What happened to it?? The new layout is horrible, absolutely horrible and inconvenient. Please change it back to the old one.

It totally minimizes the message boards, which is my main reason for coming here. Make it stahp.

You know what...?
I voted no and I do dislike it but people seem to forget this happens all the time to other websites.
Whenever Youtube changes things to their website people cry foul then life returns to normal after awhile. I bet there are some people here who don't remember when Youtube had a 5-star rating system.

That's because we have to live with it not because its not bad. YouTube was way better in the era right after Google brought it but before Google made changes.
But I like the new homepage. The old one looked like crap and wasn't optimized for mobile usage. When I'm headed to the forums I usually type rea and click enter and it sends me to the GB.

Yeah but that's nothing compare to how inconvenient this has become. Now I have to scroll like billion times to be able to see all the news and articles. Before it was just all there, you go to the website and you see everything right there. Also you have to go to the forums and then click like 5 times on different topics before you get to the forum you need. Before it was just one click, boom - you're there.
It also looked nicer and warmer, now it's just all white and and cornery, like a hospital ward, seriously what sort of design is that?! I'm sure there are more turrible things to it, I just haven't discovered them all.

That's what convenience is about, 3 secs here, 5 secs there, extra clicking and scrolling, which before was absolutely not needed.

natural reaction. people don't like changes. give it some time and you won't even notice.

The only thing I don't like is when I start scrolling down, the top bar immediately snaps to a smaller version. I appreciate leaving a nav bar up top but that immediate transition is a bit jarring.
Otherwise, yes, I like it.

Feels more modern, but I do agree with the comment that it minimizes and hides the messageboards. I think that's a really bad idea and new people coming across the site might never make it into them. It could begin to drain the life from the place over time.

Was a shock when it changed since it was normal an hour or so ago lol. I think it adds emphasis to the other sports which is probably a goal of the site's admins to one day get the (mainly football) other markets coming to this site. Nonetheless, I'm sure I'll get used to it.

hard to believe that the 2004 version of this site was and is leaps better than the last 3 or 4 incarnations.

HATE the new front page
Like an above poster said it does minimize the forums which is what most people come here for

I'm kind of an oldish school PC guy so I like classical web design with tons of content right there in front of me. I can easily click on tiny things with my mouse.
New web design is geared towards mobile devices and people clicking on things with their fat fingers and not being able to right-click and stuff like that. I don't like it but I understand it.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Please continue to let us know what you think so we can make adjustments over the coming weeks.
The main page has all of the direct links to the message boards that the old site had as well. It also lists the newest threads from The General Board. The last thing we want to do is minimize the message boards and the overall ease of use. The message board redesign will launch in a few days.
The biggest reason we decided to do a redesign was to optimize for mobile. The entire site is far easier to use on mobile and the message boards in particular once they go live.
