Why doesn't anything get done about those? It's pretty obvious just by the titles what's a troll thread and what's not on the GB. I almost think you guys like it, for the responses.

Contentious and irritable tone aside, we do what we can to deal with the troll threads when we see them, yes.

You can put posters you dislike in your foes list and there posts won't appear. Also just ignore threads that bother you and report them.

Spectacular advice. This is a feature more users need to take advantage of, and was implemented for a reason. Excellent post.

Blocking posters is one thing; I get it. Reporting - that hasn't turned out like I expected. But I'm not talking about either of those.

There's a thread in this section about a locked GSW thread: http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1411163#start_here. When I see another 'can college team b beat the Sixers?' that's blatant trolling; how can it be anything else, in light of the Kentucky threads?

Yes I can just grin and bear it and go away, but that never make a difference, right? If I don't say anything then I'm complicit, and when I do then I'm annoying at best. I don't call mods out in the GB\saying they're the worst ever (which has happened recently), and I don't tell people to 'STFU' like I see here way too often. I want it to be better - call me whatever you like.

I think you are misunderstanding my point. There is nothing wrong with registering a comment/complaint. This forum is for feedback, we WANT you to use it instead of making a fuss ITT with which you have issue. That part is fine. How you say things, however, does matter. Implying that we like troll threads is a waste of keystrokes, though; don't come into the feedback forum looking to pick a fight. If you have an issue , that's fine: as I said, feedback is welcome and encouraged. Just be mindful that moderators are volunteers and that the GB is a challenging forum to manage hased on volume and frequency of issue. Don't take out your frustration on us, but certainly keep looking to us to send courteous feedback and inquiries.

As far as the Philly thread... They're basically the worst team in professional sports at the moment. A single thread about them, pending the specific conversation within, is warranted. The linked golden state thread was shut down because there were a half-dozen "kvetch cuz the warriors won" threads on the first page alone. We monitor the threads, but we can't censor the entirety of a topic most of the time. It isn't a thing because Philly is bad and Golden State was good, it's a variety of moderator-based decisions, really. We keep an eye on stuff amd try to give posters SOME leeway before we come in and squash a thread, unless it's yet another "this belongs on the PC Board" kind of thread.

Does that help you understand?
