I'd like to suggest maybe keeping the off topic politics threads to the current affairs board. The mods there are more experienced on dealing with touchy subjects and can weed out/punish bad posters (including other mods). It would also allow for people to keep their team boards to just team talk. I'd imagine a policy like on the Raptors board would work, any off topic canada type discussion just gets moved to their off topic board. .

I usually leave that up to each individual forum on what they want to do here even in this heated election season.
