Same for me. It's maddening on IPhone on the RealGm app. It keeps re-directing me over and over to various games in the App Store.

It's horrible.

Is Team Negative responsible for these browser hacks? Is this their way of trying to make us as miserable as they are all the time? Maybe I'm a Safari homer but I think we will overcome this!

If it's not Team Negative I blame it all on Rob Babcock.

What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Same issue here. The Web developer of this site has done a very poor job overall with this forum. It's a shame because this is one of the most active Raptors related basketball forums online.

I've decided to delete the app I had entirely and install a new version to see if it clears it up.

In doing so I noticed they've released a newer version which is weird because with the old app installed it never sent out any notifications that a newer version was available and when I checked for updates manually for the app before it always seemed to present as though they hadn't updated it. I'll let you guys know if deleting and installing the new one improves things.

Okay. Testing this from the newer app. Seems much improved. No redirects so far. Much faster. Slicker UI. Better gif support so far in that gifs and images can now be seen from outside a thread. Haven't checked to see if tweets can finally display in this thing. I used to have to go to "view web view" to see them when on the old app.

Looks like this new app launched on Sep 7th. I didn't see any announcement but I also haven't been looking for it because of how annoying the redirects were getting and little there is to talk about at the moment.

Anyway, I highly recommend anyone else with this issue do this. App seems way better so far.

Popups and 404s on realgm

Post#16 » by Double Helix » Tue Sep 13, 2016 3:29 am

Still no Twitter, Instagram or vine embed views in the new app which is a big disappointment. Gifs, pics and videos load very well though.

As I tried to say before, it looks like the last gif or pic in any thread is now visible in app from the board itself along with the subject. My opinion is mixed on that for now. Seems cool in a way but I think it will make the main pages on the forums each feel a little more like a tumbler with everyone trying to post gifs. Will be tons of click bait.

I still think it's lame to have to use an app just to use one specific website.

The average smartphone user has a quad core phone with a screen that's up to 2500+ pixels, yet we have to have a special app to view a website that can't show images wider than ~800 pixels and crashes whenever the Raps acquire a TPE...

I always "no thanks" apps. They are no better than conventional sites and I don't do internet through phones. But.. with iPad or iPad mini you still get these annoying app requests. Not interested. My online quest is to avoid tracking and ads and apps seem counter to this. I loaded the Westjet wifi app only to find out they wanted to bill my credit card to go online in flight. No thanks.

I pay a service provider at home so expect an ad free experience. Not interested in the net polluted by useless e-commerce, hype and promotions.

I disable JavaScript most of the time if browse reading. It is almost hysterical to see a Mr. clean youtube ad in 2016 complete with 1950's jingle. Mute, take sip of water, oh look the content is back. Advertising is dead. It is dead because it insults the intelligence of would be consumers.

If I look at site for travel and then it keeps hammering me with the same info in the form of ads I just disable that sht. Now if they floated different pricing as enticement ads might get interesting but they don't they just play back a commercial browsing experience with all the same pricing so what is new in that experience? It is like an echo of something you showed interest in at a previous time.

It is noise and apps just facilitate that.

All good for me.

I use in chrome with AdBlock on PC.

On mobile I use the Andriod Tapatalk app. I also am on a few other forums for different stuff and this is a good platform for chat boards.

Does the new real GM app show embedded tweets?
