OT: is it just me or has this been a nightmare browsing mobile here?

I figure the time now is appropriate to make this thread considering its the dead of the offseason.

A few months ago there was a big issue with constant adware redirects. That seems to have died down thankfully. But at the same time, this site on mobile for the past few months has been REALLY opening up a can of whoop ass on my battery. I'll be browsing for just a few minutes and next thing I know like 10% of my battery is eaten plus the phone is hot. Only seems to be an issue here and it's definitely something recent cause for years I've never had this issue here and it started not long ago

Anyone else or is it just me?

It's not just you. I can't even type on mobile, there's a lag.

It's a known issue. There are threads about it in the site improvement section.

I don't know that its mobile and not iOS/safari. It's fine on PC then I can use my iPad and its garbage and I get half screens that don't finish downloading and typing lag that's out of this world.

It's not Safari cause I use Chrome and looks like we have the same issues

As many have said, ad blockers helps browsing on mobile tremendously. I also wouldn’t recommend downloading the RGM app because it isn’t very intuitive or user friendly.

You really shouldn’t have to download an ad blocker in the first place. It’s gotten a little better, though...

That’s what I had to do - and I mostly only need to use it for this site. Without it, I was getting that awful “you’ve won a gift card...” pop up and/or the site would just complete crash way too often. After installing Brave it’s been fine.

Why should I have to download anything just stop with the pop up ads and such. Every site has ads but they don't have to be such a pain in the ass.

in android there's no ad blocker extension for mobile chrome.

GET OPERA BROWSER. it has a built in ad blocker(used to be perfect but lately a few ads have been slipping by) at least you'll kill the ads. i do not know about realgm draining battery unless it was those nasty ads. also, you've posted a zillion times on realgm which means you're here online a lot and posting a lot and using data a lot

also, opera mobile has a nifty and convenient user friendly interface it is better than chrome and it has a speed dial system of getting to visited sites quickly

I have issues on mobile and desktop. But mobile is much, much worse.

It freezes, crashes, and just typing this response due to the lag took forever.

if you use chrome on your desktop get the adaware extension. it kills ALL the popups

Well, my posting has slowed down quite a bit lately. I'm sure some of that is because of how much a hassle this site has been these last few months lol. But I did used to have opera mini on an old phone and it was pretty effecient
