Can someone please explain to me how saying the word 'savages' can result in a 24 hour ban? This dude is literally crazy.

I agree he seems unfit as a moderator. I've only gotten 2 warnings ever, both from fleet, and from similar situations (below), which I find to have ridiculous reasoning. Both were about derailing, and were where I made on-topic replies to points others had raised. If the mods leave the discussion someone else initiated in the thread, why is it suddenly derailing when I reply to them in a direct manner?

A little while ago there was a poster in a thread about Trump vs. Biden arguing it was justified to wish death on Trump and co, and I responded that was, in short, uncivilized. I was given a warning and to my knowledge the other didn't get one, although IDK, as my warning wasn't publicly written on the board and the others' presumably wouldn't be. I found it strange I seemed to get a warning for responding to what another person was saying -- I think it's not my job to move his post to an appropriate thread first. And unless that other poster got a hidden warning too, the message is it is "on topic" to discuss justifying wishing death on Republicans in a Trump/Biden thread, but not to argue against it.

The other was when a different post said voters for Trump "made a pact with the devil" and I pointed out it seemed like hyperbole, and made a brief reference to other admins' actions to raise the question on whether the comments were balanced, and I got a warning for derailing. Perhaps I was in a strict sense, but I don't find putting things in a historical context for the sake of comparison to the point being discussed is deraling, especially without any prior warning to stay on topic in either case.

Altogether these seem subjective and likely biased. In fact, on the Current Affairs board where these happened, people will be allowed endless diversions to switch the topic to blaming Trump when a totally different discussion had been going on. At least, derailment warnings are not publicly enforced (or likely enforced at all, as they are so frequent it would have led to bans by now if they were). Given people only get a handful of warnings before getting banned, it's probably a good idea not to have them all be made by the same mod without review. But if it's just a place where anything pro-Trump is not really welcome being the message, I guess I will be banned soon. I just wish that had been disclosed before starting to post on Current Affairs.

I would really like an answer as to how calling protesters savages is a racist team. There are literally more white people than black people in these protests and I literally posted on the first page that I wanted the cops locked up. This mod gave me an immediate strike because he's on a power trip or what? And yes, I was mad after because he called it a 'racist' post.

Fleet is doing a wonderful job on The Current Affairs Forum.

The Current Affairs Forum is a tough place to Moderate and has a strict policy with a Strike System rather than a warnings system.

Please do re-read the rules before posting.
