When a mod libels you in a locked thread, what is the remedy?

A mod posted something false and insulting about my supposed state of mind, in a thread that was then locked.

Is there a remedy other than PMing the mod and asking for an edit of the post? I've tried that, so far to no avail. I understand and can accept the rule that mods shouldn't be argued with publicly about whether posts are acceptable -- but when they start posting conclusions about their telepathic investigations of other people's minds, I think their presumption of infallibility should be set aside.

(The post in question is viewtopic.php?p=84187050#p84187050 . I was posting in line with long-standing custom of the forum, and did not "know" that I should not have done so.)

To be clear, I'm using the word "libel" in its general dictionary sense, which isn't open to a "Come on; how big deal is this anyway?" retort the way the otherwise similar legal definition is.

Thanks for fixing the problem post, Howard.

Feedback: In an ideal world, this wouldn't have had to be escalated all the way to you.

Not a problem.
