Chrome: Barely able to navigate the site

So everytime I navigate anywhere on realgm for the last 2 weeks:
- it is impossible to click anything for good 10-20 sec. It seems to lock up a decent amount of time.
- CPU usage jumps to 20%.
- then at some point some ads open left and right and bottom
