Pop-Up Ads

Post#1 » by Wizop » Wed Aug 12, 2026 5:39 pm

The forum software complains when my software blocks a pop-up ad. I will stop scanning pop-ups when RealGM starts scanning ads before they accept them. I understand that these forums live on ad revenue, but we should not be sent to dangerous places.

If you agree, please respond or like my post.

I never click on ads much like I never click on junkemail in my email, I just delete...

Might look at getting adblocker?

I've been using the brave we browser for real gm for n years now because they have a automatic pop up blocker. The amount of dangerous sites blocked by them found from here is insane. Realgm is the only site I use it for basically.

In the time it took me to write my last post 39 popups were blocked. That's just insane.

Reading the replies to my post I got another turn off your blocker message.

I see they moved this thread from the General Board to Feedback where fewer members will find it

I wasn't aware of your thread. I'll look for it tomorrow. I do understand that this topic is feedback and not basketball. I'm not calling the move malicious but it's unfortunate. The more people who speak up, the more likely it will be that management sees the need to test ads before uploading them.
