Going overboard, perhaps?

I think the recent mod actions in the OTB might be going a bit too far. Locking threads for straying ever so slightly off topic? Deleting threads in which no rules were broken? You might as well lock the OTB, because in its current state no one is particularly enjoying it. If this keeps up, no one is going to want to post there...

hopefully this is temporary to show OTB that mods mean business. otherwise, they ll lose good amount of posters(more than just bad weeds) which means less adverts.

what do i knwo thou.

Pretty much my point. They want to "weed out bad posters", but the fact is they've waived almost everyone they found a threat, and now they're still mad. I don't know what they want from us.

guys, the OT board is not your chat room - yeah, I know the chat thread got locked, but since I was not the one to lock it, I am not going to be the one to unlock it. Chat on AIM, messenger, your other board if you want.

Yea I gotta agree. I don't get why the fast foods thread was locked. El Turco did post first to the relevance of the thread. If you expect every single thread to be spam free and to stay on topic, then lock up the OTB and the bball boards too. The OTB is meant to be basically about nothing. It's a section to just talk about whatever, as long as its clean.

It's not that one thread that is the issue...

The heavy hand of the government is reminding us of its presence once again. Seriously though, moderating Off-Topic board must a **** job. No wonder half the mods don't even post anymore. They are too busy deleting stuff. I haven't seen a phillies post in 20 years.

Alright. So why was my thread about a real life issue locked? There was a regular discussion occurring, no cursing or arguments.
