SuperStar on Clutchfans is creepy. Can't debate logically or win an argument so he resorts to cyber-stalking.

Look at his visitor messages

Come on now, that thread is classic and it's not about him being Korean but how awkward looking he can be. The photo shopping is no different that the one for Antoine Walker robot walk.

The black face isn't even a legit comparison.

There are many ugly white and black players in the NBA, why aren't there any threads making fun of them, let alone one that is over 80 pages long?

I feel bad: you missed some epic Sam Cassell threads. I think the best was the Photoshop of Sam Cassell as E.T. in the basket of the bicycle.

Getting back to the original point of the post: I don

2) There are quite a lot of Koreans who look like Ha. He may be ugly to some Asian eyes, but nothing that would single him out for special "ugly" status. Why isn't there a thread on an ugly white player?

try starting one and do some great photoshop, I'm serious too. Chris Kaman gets my vote

3) In society, white people love to proclaim themselves to be better looking than all other races - see People's magazine. Asians, especially Asian men, are almost always shown as not particularly attractive. If there were equal amounts of positive exposure, then it wouldn't be such a big deal. But there isn't. Asians are still the butt of racist jokes and physical attacks, and there are many self-esteem issues, especially with Asians performing eye surgery to look more "Western". There are around 4 Asian people in the NBA, and one of them has already been singled out as "ugly".

Can you show me what a before and after surgery look like? I was never aware of this.

4) Not all the people who post on the thread are racist, or intend to be. But that thread serves to propagate the notion that Asian people are uglier than white people. Some of the posters are no doubt ignorant or immature, and once they grow up, they might be inclined to ridicule Asians "just for laughs".

(using your 1 in 4 stat for ugly) 2/4 or 50% of Asian are over 7?

What you have to realize is that the Ha thread was a masterpiece because it combined two of the great loves of RealGM: scrub idolatry, and Photoshop. Ha was a scrawny, 7'3" kid with a lopsided grin, comically earnest demeanour, and he was never likely to see minutes. That's the perfect storm; regardless of what ethnic background sprang the mighty Ha, he was destined for RealGM greatness.

If you don't believe me about the scrub idolatry, ask Wizards fans about the Laron Profit Shrine (it was Profit, right)?

Or find the Sam Mitchell Photoshop thread on the Raptors board, where one very silly squatting double-fist pump spawned about 50 pages of nonsense.

Or the Draw Things on Scott Skiles' Marvelous Forehead thread on the Bulls board.

This is a board full of silly people; we like to do silly things, because we have nothing worthwhile to say. Ha just happened to be one of the myriad targets...except that a picture happened to be found with him in the unbelievably versatile "mouth open and pointing" pose. That's the only reason that thread reached epic status, not his race.

The Bucks board now has the rights to the "Michael Ruffin Shrine" originally started by Wizards fans, the "Draw things on Skiles' Amazing Forehead Thread" originally started by Bulls fans, and we even had the rights to "The Random Ha Picture Thread" for awhile but it got taken back.

Its all in good fun, but some people choose to make it offensive.

You do know what 'racist' means, right? To believe that one race is inferior to/should be ruled by another?

It's a term that shouldn't be thrown around loosely. Wise up.

If you are looking for affirmation of thy beauty in People's Magazine, I suggest you start building up your self-esteem by participating in a workshop at your local YMCA.

Except he's been out of the NBA since 2006.

Three decades ago, fresh from the refugee camp of Vietnam, I was first made acutely aware of my own Asian looks by a schoolyard bully in my junior high. He pulled the sides of his eyes back to make them look slanted and sang the ditty now made famous by Rosie O

We also have (well, had, since he was traded and we've since moved the thread to his new team's board) a Michael Ruffin Shrine.

EDIT...

Micharl Ruffin Shrine

147-page thread on Laron Profit

gamer4Life wrote:Racists these days will never openly admit they're racist... it's often under the cover of humour, and "otherness". If a black person kills a white person because he's white, even though he doesn't claim to be superior in race, does that mean he's not a racist?

Deciding that you have the right to end another person's life because their skin color doesn't match yours isn't a claim of superiority? Look a little deeper, dude.

People make fun of things that they think are amusing, whether it's someone's looks, their clothes, their house, the way they talk, their intelligence level, whatever. Just like fat people, people of all races get made fun of for being strange/funny looking. Is it nice? No. But it's not racism either.

Well I live in an area with lots of asians and I can safely say that none of them look anything remotely like Ha. I'm a quarter asian myself and I would be seriously offended if you said that I looked like this:
