what was going on last night on OTB?

Post#1 » by Basti » Sun May 4, 2008 10:54 am

the title pretty much says it. what was going on there last night?? so many threads got locked and only a few of them could or should be considered as worthy of being locked. plus to make it even worse I didn't even read ONE reasoning for locking.

I have no idea who it was but I wouldn't be surprised if that certain mod was intoxicated and/or driven by an urgent rush of feeling powerful

I'm not mad, I just want to know what happened

yeah probably. I guess RGM should make some rules for mods being sober while spending their time here... i know you can't control it but it's like a regular poster is doing messed up stuff while drunk only that he'll get a warning or even more. and if threads get locked w/o any reasoning you don't even know why it was made and by who it was made. this sucks

Yeah but what can they do, make them take a sobriety test? Make sure mods arent alcoholics? I think the OTB needs some new mods. I wonder which mod was doing the locking.

I guess it's pretty hard to execute but it could be tougher for mods to lock it if they have to give a reasoning unless it's REALLY obvious. if they don't give a reasoning I think it should be allowed to contact a commish and ask him if it's possible to see who locked it. I know it's a lot of effort but I think it could work

Whoever did it should come out and be a man! the OT board is really getting ridiculous and going down hill at an alarming rate.

but some of them were definitely NOT obvious. it would be nice and recommended for each mod to leave a note why he/she locked it unless it is obvious and to me a few of the locks were NOT obvious

You're welcome. Some of the OTB posters are an insatiable lot. You all complain when mods provide explanations in threads and call bulls**t when they do.

So don't come crying to seven individual posters just because they cannot bend to your mighty will every waking hour of the day. Mods go offline too.

I'm not complaing, just wondering. I guess it would be greatly appreciated just to leave a small note why it got locked. I guess it doesn't take more than half a minute.

I have no idea how others think about it but I'd rather have a ridicoulus explanation than no one.

that'd just lead to more mod complaining - which topic(s) in particular got locked and you were unable to figure out why.

The toilet thread was great and then Debbie Downer locked it. Some mod though has a sense of humor and unlocked it. Thank you.
