How many posts do you need to PM someone?

This is an old issue. PMs were disabled ages ago due to massive spamming issues.

I would agree though, some system should be implemented where a person can send PMs after being a member for, say, 3 or 6 months or something.

You can't have a post-count minimum, since that would just encourage spamming useless posts on the board itself. But some time limit should at least be instituted on a trial basis, to see if it can get rid of the spammers. Of course spammers would be capable of finding ways around this (i.e., registering a new name every day, and thus every day getting a new name where the time limit has passed) but I think the hassle of that would be enough discouragement that it wouldn't become an issue.

Any mod thoughts? I'm sure you guys have discussed this.

to PM a mod you don't need a certain number, but its mot working right now

but to PM just another regular member you need a zillion posts, so get cracking

Lol, no PMing allowed. No searching allowed. Yet these stupid World of Warcraft robots are allowed to run around and post whatever spam they want anywhere..great

We currently do not have user PM's to moderators but we plan to get them back in the future.

We have no plans to bring back user to user PM's at the moment due to spammers.

In the control panel there is an option to manage friends. If say 2 users becomes friends with each other they could be able to PM each other.

That's a GREAT suggestion, hopefully something like that can be implemented.
