Perhaps they thought there was an olympics forum open that you could put this thread on. I mean, twirling is an olympic event right?

No I don't think it's an olympic event. The thread is supposed to be about school sports or whatever. It's no different than if someone were to start a thread like, "Should I join my school's basketball team?"
