I know a lot of threads get created daily and a lot of the time the same thread pops up a few times..
but Mods PLEASE when you lock a thread could you kindly provide a link to the thread that is open about that discussion??

Good idea. Another forum I'm a member of uses this policy. If someone calls dupe on a thread, it doesn't get closed until someone can provide a link to the duped thread.

Good suggestion, but you're creating another unnecessary thread in the process. You could have just as easily suggested this in the Feedbacks and Suggestions...

While this is a good idea in principle, because this forum lacks a search function, it is very, very difficult to find older threads. I will try in the future to provide a link, but for some older material, I'm just going to lock it.

You can use google to search within domains such as realgm.

Your conflicting yourself because what your essentially saying is that if I see a thread that is too old i'm not going to search for it because there is no search function, but you will still lock it even though the original poster cannot search for it either.

I just proved that stereotypes are usually wrong. As a poster, it is best to avoid these generalizations.
The premise of the thread is honourable, but in practicality, on the Raptors board, it is difficult to do this. My rule of thumb is if it has been post on the original source more than 20 minutes previously, it is already somewhere on the Raps board.

well, here's my simple answer:
i have enough things going on in my personal and work life to have zero desire to search the first 5 pages of the Raps' board for the link to a thread being locked.
if its a "fire Triano" thread, you can edit "the first 5 pages" to "the first 30 pages".
when its a Vince Carter-related thread that's locked, you can edit the "first 5 pages" to "the first 30 pages".

Everything alright Yogi? If you feel the need to vent, we have a nice feel good vibe going on in the RTT thread. These moments usually don't last long so strike soon!
