Do us a favour and turn this thing off. It never works. It doesn't how big or small your image is, or what the website it's hosted on is - 95 times out of 112, it just doesn't freaking work. I've wanted to change this signature's picture for about two weeks, but every time I upload a new one, the bloody control panel won't have it. Whatever this function is supposed to be achieving, all it's doing is stifling the fun out of life. So please turn it off. Let's have signature dimensions be judgement calls like the old days.

NetsForce is actually serious, although it doesn't take 20 times. Generally it's 3 or 4. But just keep hitting 'Submit' and it will take eventually.

Its a matter of the multiple servers synchronizing or something to that effect. As stated, submitting it a few times will push the image through. Perhaps not ideal, but it does work.
