That's lame, since when was it a rule? a public warning at least makes sense if anything.

You can always contact the Raptor mod(s) to get a better understanding. IBTL is annoying, it's post padding, and it adds nothing to the topic. It depends on the the board and the mod, but there has been an overwhelming amount of posters that use it and other posters have been warned for it.

If you need to contact a Moderator of the Raptors forum you may E-mail us at anytime at

I get what you're saying but if it is that much of an issue than it should be against board policies. It's not against the rules so why are Warnings being handed out? It's no different than handing out a warning for posters who post no substance in other ways
Handing warnings depending on the board or the mod sounds sketchy. A lot of posters including myself been around for years and jokingly posted IBTL many times and warnings were never handed out. If it isn't against board policies than a public warning should be handed out and that's it. That's my two cents on it.

2. Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. This applies to ALL users, regardless of post count, forum rank or perceived status at RealGM. Flaming, trolling or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
Posting IBTL is not respectful.
3. Members who disrupt the normal flow of dialogue or otherwise act in a manner that negatively affects other users’ ability to engage in real-time exchanges may be warned.
Posting IBTL disrupts the normal flow of dialogue.
4. Members who participate in discussions should attempt to make a meaningful contribution. Users who spam or post with the sole intention of increasing their post count and ranking may be warned.
Posting IBTL is not a meaningful contribution. It also is considered post padding to increase post count.
5. Members are asked to not act as "back seat moderators". If members note an issue which contravenes something in this policy document they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a Moderator. Only do this if a moderator has not replied within 6 hours. Members who consistently "act" as moderators may be warned.
Posting IBTL can be considered ""back seat moderating". If you feel a post does not warrant it's own thread please report it and give a brief description why. It's not up to you to state what is worthy on the Raps forum.
Having said all that we don't normally warn a user for "IBTL" unless a Mod has noticed a user doing it repeatedly. Looking at you're post history this isn't the first time you have posted "IBTL" along with that same picture, you even admitted to posting "IBTL" several times in the post above.. I would suggest reporting a post over simply posting "IBTL".
Thanks.

LittleOzzy sums it up quite well.

The other thing to take into consideration is the fact that, when considering suspensions/bans, we tend to look at the severity of the offense; a warning for using IBTL is still a warning, but it carries less weight if we're deciding on a later suspension than if you spammed the board with gay porn or some such (it's been at least a month since I last had to delete 100 pictures of an elderly man sucking dick!).
Still, IBTL is so monumentally pointless and played out that I've never understood why anyone would bother posting it, much less go on a tirade when the precious phrase is ripped from your bosom (not you, an earlier thread around here).

Alright, I understand the IBTL deal now. Thing is, don't be handing out warnings that lead to suspensions depending on the mod and how they feel . It's either mods are going to issue warnings or they're not. If posters know they're going to get handed a warning for posting IBTL then it won't get posted (in this case me). I don't mean to make it a big deal but I rather get suspended for going against board policy

Lets be honest and if you weren't a pain on the boards before they most likely let it slide. But, the IBTL is incredibly annoying and I see no issue with giving out a warning for it.
