D League Player Callup watch

I'll start this thread off with a few names....

Courtney Sims has been playing great basketball in the D League, earning player of the week after rebounding and scoring the ball well. Most people suspected that he would be an NBA caliber player at Michigan, but he never really developed as a player throughout his four years.

Demarcus Nelson is playing within his team's scheme, leading them to victory on several occasions.

Erik Daniels, although extremely undersized, has become a pretty versatile player in the D League and might merit a callup at some juncture in the season.

Demarcus Nelson can only be called up to the Golden State Warriors because he was assigned by them to the Bakerfield Jam so they still own his rights.

Courtney Sims can definitely be called up by the way he is playing right now. If he continues to play like he is right now he won't be in the D-league for long.

Other players that can be called up soon include: Koby Carl, Gary Forbes, Luke Jackson, Renaldo Major, Carl Crawford, Jamal Tatum, Nick Lewis, Lance Allred, Chris Richard, Smush Parker, and Jamerio Davidson.

Smush is a lock to be called up. In one point in the season at least one team will have only 1 active PG and 2 SGs, than they will take someone with NBA exp. Smush even played in the playoffs(and shot 9% :) )
I'd like to see Charlie Gaines in NBA - he always gives 110%, he doesnt care where he plays - Charlie did it in France, Turkey or Spain, and now the D-league. Players like him must get a chance to play in the NBA.

Also watch out for Malik Hairston, Marcus Williams, Derrick Bryars, Bobby Jones, Will Conroy, and Blake Arhearn. These guys are tearing up the D-league.

Courtney Sims was just named the Player of December in the D League. I expect a call up sometime soon. He's getting twice the development and coaching than he had at Michigan with Tommy Amaker.

Courtney Sims is having a terrific season so far and definiately would be a good call up. I've felt he'd be nice to have in Denver. But where is Curtis Stinson on the list? He belongs on anyone's short list. He's finally got out of Will Blalock's shadow. He's always looked like a true point guard to me and now he actually gets to play the position. He's no longer a 6'3 undersized 2 with a shakey jumper. He's back to being that "blue collar" guy. Great defender at the point. Excellent vision. strong rebounder. finds a path to the basket and has a huge repitoire of scoring moves. If a team needs a point guard. Stinson should be option numero uno.

Today is the start of the D-league Showcase in Orem, Utah where all the d-league teams will be playing during a four day period.

All the players will get to showcase their skills in front of all the scouts and GMs from the NBA. Players will have an even greater chance of being called up because today is the start of 10-day contracts.

Jamerio Davidson has already recieved a call-up today from the Golden State Warriors.

I believe that Blake Ahearn of the Dakota Wizards and Will Conroy of the Thumderbirds are the two best point guards in the d-league right now and i believe they will get a call-up pretty soon.

So does anyone here think James White will get a call-up with the #'s he's putting up and the league wide knowledge of his athleticism?

He is actually doing really well. His game has improved a lot in the D League. He is one of the best players in the league.

Pops from the Austin Toros got called up today to the Spurs. I am not surprised since he was just tearing the D-league apart since he came.

James White of the Arsenal got called up today to the Houston Rockets. Maybe he can extend his stay in the NBA this time.

Lol; Smush Parker? Mr. Streetballer himself? The guy that was actually starting PG for the Lakers over D Fish lol. He's still around? Teams would be smart to stay away from him. I'm surprised he's even still trying though. Maybe he really does love the game even if the maturity is not there.

He was tearing it up. But bigs can have deceptively good numbers in the smaller sized NBDL. He does look like he has athleticism though. He got 11 pts in like 12 minutes in his second game with the Spurs.

For fantasy: Don't think he'll get the numbers up too much this year, but if you're in a keeper league, he looks like a good guy to take a chance on.

Pops has always had the athleticism to contend in the league. It's just been a matter of him honing his basketball skills ie shooting etc.

As for James White, apparently the Rockets are looking at him. Trying to find another gem in the mold of a Von Wafer I'm sure.
