The Los Angeles Lakers believe that their young core of Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and Max Christie could improve under Dan Hurley, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Lakers also have the No. 21 pick in the upcoming draft.
Part of the thinking behind hiring Hurley is evolving nature of building a roster with the limitations of the second apron.
Hurley is scheduled to meet with the Lakers on Friday.
