Pascal Siakam, Pacers Agree To Four-Year, $189.5M Contract

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Jun 19, 2024 1:36 pm

Pascal Siakam and the Indiana Pacers have agreed to a four-year, $189.5 million contract. That is the maximum salary Siakam could get on a four-year deal with Indiana.

The Pacers acquired Siakam ahead of last season's trade deadline. Indiana sent the Toronto Raptors three first-round picks, Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora and Kira Lewis Jr. in exchange for the All-Star forward.

In 39 games with Indiana, Siakam averaged 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists. He proved to be a great fit alongside Tyrese Haliburton and in the Pacers up-tempo system.

Get it while the gettin's good, grats to Pascal on this one.

We all knew it was coming, this was the reason the trade market for him was so weak, it was the only logical move for the small market team to lock up it's own all-star even if it's a sub optimal move.
The problem here is that he's not a #1 option and the Pacers don't have a #1 option for him to play beside so this has all the signs of a move that will keep the Pacers on a mediocrity treadmill for a while.
