Julia Koch and her children bought a stake in BSE Global, which owns the Brooklyn Nets, the New York Liberty, and the Barclays Center.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The league's board of governors must still approve the deal.
The Kochs will buy 15% of BSE Global, according to Sportico.
With BSE Global valued at $6 billion, the Kochs would have paid $900 million.
Joe Tsai and Clara Wu Tsai will still control BSE Global.
