Jalen Smith has declined his $5.4 million option with the Indiana Pacers for the 23-24 season to become an unrestricted free agent. Smith, who is represented by Mike Kneisley,signed a three-year, $15.1 million deal with the Pacers in 2022.
Smith was the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns. In 61 games last season with the Pacers, Smith averaged 9.9 points, 5.5 reboudns and 1.0 assists while shooting 42.4 percent on three-pointers.
