Paul George Likely To Leave Clippers As Neither Side Moves Off Negotiating Position

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jul 1, 2024 12:19 am

The Los Angeles Clippers met with Paul George's agent, Aaron Mintz, and that conversation resulted in both sides standing firm on their respective positions. Both sides now expect George to likely leave the Clippers in free agency.

The Clippers have maintained a three-year offer to George while he seeks a four-year contract.

The Philadelphia 76ers are now the strong frontrunners to sign George. George will meet with the Sixers in California on Sunday evening.

George paying Woj so that Clippers cave on the 4th year. I don't think they'll cave. Maybe he stays. Maybe he leaves.

But this lowers the probability of his jersey getting retired as a clipper, PG13 needs to resign, Kawhi will lead them to the promise land eventually.

I feel like a lot of players agents don’t understand the cap and apron system. I feel like the old tactics of playing chicken and making leaks are just gonna backfire. Sign and trades aren’t as easy. It’s not “lose an asset for nothing” type of risk anymore. It’s lose an asset now or be punished with severe taxes, draft penalties, and trade restrictions….

Paul George is an ungrateful weasel. I wouldn't want him on my team.
