Bulls Prepared To Drop Ask Price For Zach LaVine Trade

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jun 1, 2024 12:18 pm

The Chicago Bulls were unable to trade Zach LaVine last season before he underwent surgery on his right foot. Whatever asking price the Bulls had for LaVine at that point will likely be lower as they reengage this offseason.

"I do get the sense both sides are motivated to make something work this offseason," writes K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago. "I don’t think the Bulls will take an awful deal if little materializes, but I do get the sense they’re open to more possibilities than before. More to the point: I’ve reported before what their asking price was---All-Star level talent, first-round picks or both---and my sense is that it has dropped significantly."

Johnson adds that "the desire from both sides to make a change has grown."

LaVine re-signed with the Bulls in 2022 on a five-year, $215 million deal. LaVine will make $43 million during the 24-25 season.

In 25 games last season, LaVine averaged 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists.

LaVine is represtned by Rich Paul and Lucas Newton of Klutch Sports.

This team is truly a purgatory team.

It will be risk for any team trading for Lavine and his huge contract. Best for the bulls to wait until after free agency to deal him.

There’s no way in hell the Lakers won’t say hi and then still be surprised they can’t make it out of the first round again.

They are in 2k as well. In the 2024-25 season playing through, every team had some new players (free agency/trades). Bulls just rolled out the same team again.

I could see a desperate team like the Hornets or Pistons trading for him. Also if the sixers strike out in free agency they might go after him.

The thing is his body is starting to give out on him. He's still young but he's almost 30. He's a player that relys on his athletism. He hasn't looked the same since knee surgery.

They were rebuilding and that's the year lavine asked for help. The front office listened to his request. Brought in vuc at deadline and then went after lonzo in the offseason. We didn't know caruso was coming and nobody thought derozan would chime in. Everything looked bright. Markkanen traded. With Patrick Williams. It looked like a clear winner.im not sure how losing lonzo turned into the downfall. Just injury and players taking long to develop is killing chi

No team would publicly acknowledge dropping the asking price of its player -- its called negotiation.

Seems like an opposing agent / GM trying to crater the Bulls ability to trade.

I've been simming a 2k24 bulls franchise. Even with my help it took them until about 2030 to be decent.

They need to stop asking and start offering.

They would have to give up a first rounder or two and take on a few filler contracts to get rid of this albatross contract. He’s injury prone. On the decline. Has never been part of a winning team, takes I’ll advised shots and is inconsistent. A team would have to be really desperate to take a chance on him. Sorry bulls, your stuck with this guy for 3 more seasons. Don’t offer big contracts to anybody who scores 20ppg the real question is do those 20ppg matter to winning.

Just make a 3 team trade of Beal, Lavine and Ben Simmons. Simmons to the Suns to improve their defense and rebounding, Lavine to NJ for ticket sales and Beal would be a better pairing with DeRozan.

Does Zach Lavine sell tickets? Seriously?
