Several Teams Interested In Trading For Cameron Johnson

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jul 25, 2024 12:51 pm

The Brooklyn Nets have kicked off a rebuild by trading Mikal Bridges. The next steps could be trading veteran forwards Dorian Finney-Smith or Cameron Johnson.

Several teams have reportedly expressed interest in trading for Johnson. The Sacramento Kings, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers were mentioned as initial suitors. Other teams mentioned include the Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs.

Johnson has three years and $68.8 million left on his contract. At $23.6 million for 2024-25, the 6-foot-8 wing shooter is considered a very tradable player.

Ha. Trying to create a market or increased market for either.

I think Cam fetches 1 first max.
DFS gets 2 seconds max.

Hard to imagine any world where Brooklyn lets either go for such a low price.

Cam is massively overrated. A first and a player with upside, or a first and an expiring, is about what he's worth. He's a nice shooter with an injury history and above average defense. DFS is even more overrated. He qualifies as 3-&-D, but his efficiency has always been mediocre or worse. At his age, his low impact scoring and switchable defense won't be getting any better. I could see either player helping a contender as a key piece, but nobody is dumping a bunch of draft capital for mediocrity.
