Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jul 22, 2024 6:19 pm

Spencer Dinwiddie has agreed to a one-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks. Dinwiddie was traded by the Mavericks to the Brooklyn Nets in 2023 as part of the Kyrie Irving trade. Dinwiddie played a key role for the Mavericks when they reached the 2022 Western Conference Finals.

Dinwiddie played 76 games in 23-24 with the Nets and Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 10.5 points, 3..7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 28.3 minutes.

They are a great fit for each other, Dinwiddie played some of his best ball in Dallas. This is a gem of a late July signing filling out the Mavs roster.

That's a good pickup. The Mavs needed a couple more vets on their roaster to pair up with the youngins

If he plays better sure.. If he plays like he played last year he is a liability. Its a toss up could turn into a good signing.

His role will be different this time around, and the opportunities are likely to be far less. He will be competing for minutes with Exum, Hardy, and Grimes in the rotation. Considering the deal and the timing, it's good.
