Stephen Curry To Set Timeline On Discussing One-Year, $62.6M Extension With Warriors

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Aug 15, 2024 9:33 pm

Stephen Curry is eligible for a one-year, $62.6 million extension to his contract with the Golden State Warriors that has $115.3 million remaining over the next two seasons. Curry recently returned to the United States from Paris after winning his first gold medal and plans to be away over the next few weeks, which will delay any possibility of discussing an extension in the short-term.

Curry will dictate the timeline of discussions on a deal with a deadline of October 21st for agreement before the sides can reengage after the season.

The Warriors have privately and publicly maintained the position that they will offer Curry the $62.6 million year onto his contract if he wants it. Curry will be playing in his his age-38 season on that extension.

If Curry waits on an extension, it could allow him to apply extra pressure to Golden State's efforts to improve the roster. Curry is represented by Jeff Austin

Curry previously signed extensions with the Warriors in 2012 and 2021, as well as a free agent contract in 2017

Actually it can be important to know because it helps explain patterns in agent conduct. Especially when you get a random signing to a team where the star’s agent is the same agent as the random player. Or if a team’s GM is trying to make an agent/agency happy by signing their players to show good faith, etc. Lots of behind the scenes stuff we don’t tend to think about

How much you wanna bet Dumbleavy Jr. messes this up too. Terrible / lazy / bust former Warriors player and his GM-ing isn't much better. Would not be beyond reality where Steph and Draymond want out on this sinking ship.

Already kicked out Klay Thompson, wasted the CP3 expiring contract on zero trades and mediocre players, and has the audacity to say this new team is "better" lmao. Warriors ain't going anywhere besides the lottery unless they make some BIG MOVES this season. Lauri was it but MDJ Is a freakin eeediot, prioritizing Brandin frickin Podziemski LOLOLOL, who apparently is the 2nd coming of Larry Bird.

Lacob better get his head out of his azz 'cause this new hire ain't it...

Well done. Jax_23 has worked hard to establish himself as the biggest clown on the Warriors board since the end of the season, and he has some competition for sure. It's all a bit to get attention.
