Mike Dunleavy Jr.: Warriors Probably As Impatient A Franchise As You Can Be Right Now

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Sep 27, 2024 2:05 am

The Golden State Warriors had their opening media availability on Thursday and Mike Dunleavy Jr. discussed the front office's strategy following an active offseason where they lost Klay Thompson, but added Kyle Anderson, De'Anthony Melton and Buddy Hield. Their higher profile pursuits for the likes of Paul George and Lauri Markkanen, however, were unsuccessful.

“We’re probably as impatient a franchise as you can be right now given our time horizon and all that,” Dunleavy said. “But there’s a fine line between impatience and undisciplined. I feel good about the discipline that we held this summer and the roster we built and the growth from within that we’re going to have. I know everybody is always looking for big headline breaking news and all that, but I really like this team.”

The Warriors plan on being aggressive during the season as well.

“Does that mean we’re definitely going to do something? No,” Dunleavy said. “We were super aggressive last year around the deadline. Didn’t do a whole lot. You’ve got to have a partner. Making deals in this league can be tough. But the effort and the urgency will always be there.”

You would’ve picked Wiseman too.

But he doesn't get millions to make these decisions. Bob does

Yeah and Bob Myers is notoriously bad at making basketball decisions… go google the 2020 draft class. Who would you have picked?

drafting for an injured player who's whole thing was that he was Anthony Davis 2.0 even though he's never played like that even in high school?
