PJ Tucker To Be Away From Clippers By Mutual Consent

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Oct 6, 2024 7:42 pm

PJ Tucker will be away from the Los Angeles Clippers by mutual consent, the team released in a statement on Sunday.

The two sides will work to "find the best solution for him moving forward."

Tucker, who was largely out of the Clippers lineup following a trade from the Sixers, exercised his $11.5 million player option with the team this offseason.

This news was released by the team, not by PJ Tucker.

It's the Clippers still whining :)

Not really. LAC would rather have this guy show up and earn his $11.4m... put in the work in practice and be a mentor for the youth. If he did that, he might get some run. He is staying home because he can't get his ego to accept a limited role. LAC is announcing it to get ahead of potential questions that are bound to show up when PJ doesn't.

And lets face it, it is an absolute luxury to have an elite situational defender like PJ on your bench, but PJ is also an absolute zero on the other end. He may get 35 minutes in a particular matchup, but you can't guarantee a player like that even 15 MPG when they have better options in most situations.

Dollars to donuts, PJ wants to get out of LAC and back to PHI where they don't have a single PF on the roster.

Too much drama for a 39 year old role player. Jesus.

I mean it's mutual. the team could release him and eat the cap hit.

They want to try and package him with someone else to get *something* back

Man life is good- I’m gonna opt in for my money but at the same time complain about my role.

These owners are crazy- I would do him the same way the did PG…

What are y‘all expecting him to do other than opt in? Thats his last pay cheque.

It's not the opt in that bothers anyone.

It's the fact that he continues to whine and complain at every possible opportunity as if the Clippers are holding him back - as if some other team out there is going to showcase the guy with heavy minutes if only he could break free from his current situation.

Dude is entirely clueless to the reality that he's not that guy anymore and hasn't been for multiple seasons.

Ding ding ding. The guy wants to have his cake and eat it too. The problem is he isn't capable of eating said cake anymore.

If he just cashed his cheques quietly no one would bat an eyelid. He knew the Clippers do not intend to play him. Either opt in and be a good teammate or opt out and chase your expanded role elsewhere. He lacks self-awareness.
