Pelicans Looking To Extend Brandon Ingram At $40M Per Season

The New Orleans Pelicans are looking to sign Brandon Ingram for around $40 million per season, according to Jake Fischer of The People's Insider.

Ingram is looking for a max contract.

Ingram, who recently signed with Klutch, is expected to either be traded or extend with the Pelicans by the trade deadline. 

Ingram has been linked with several teams, including the Jazz and Kings.

The Cavs reportedly turned down a deal involving Ingram and Jarrett Allen.

A max contract would start him around $42m this season, so they are really negotiating on raises and options. I doubt it's the $2m in the first year that's holding them back. It will be a bit more this summer on the new salary cap (about $46m) so NOP (or their potential trade partners) should act now if interested.
