The Portland Trail Blazers have started receiving interest in some of the veterans on their roster. This includes Jerami Grant, Anfernee Simons and Robert Williams III. The Blazers have yet to decide which direction to take their team. Portland currently sits 13th place in the Western Conference.
Grant makes $29.8 million this season. The veteran forward then has $102.6 million left through 2027-28, including a player option the final season.
Simons has two years left on his contract. The combo guard is owed $25.9 million this season and $27.7 million next season.
Williams has long been seen as an affordable frontcourt option for contenders. The big man is owed $12.4 million this season and $13.3 million next season.
The challenge for a contender trading for Simons or Williams is that both players have been injury prone. Matching salary should be fairly easy, but giving up depth or assets for either player would be a gamble.
