Celtics Had Approximately $30M In EBIDTA During 23-24 Season

The Boston Celtics grossed $493 million in revenue during the 23-24 season, reports Sportico. Before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, the Celtics made roughly $30 million in earnings with a luxury tax bill above $40 million.

The Celtics' playoff run represented $102 million of the total, which is mostly ticket revenue. The NBA collects 25 percent of the playoff gate to fund the player playoff pool. Boston also had $70 million in local television revenue, including equity income from their 20 percent share in NBC Sports Boston.

The Celtics are in the process of selling a majority stake in their team for estate planning purposes by the Grousbeck family. The Celtics are a tenant at TD Garden, which limits their potential revenue upside for non-NBA events.
