Michael Porter Jr.: Front Office Told Me Trade Rumors 'All Noise'

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Dec 25, 2024 1:18 pm

Michael Porter Jr. has been assured by the front office of the Denver Nuggets to not worry about his place in trade rumors. There have been reports that the Nuggets have internally considered whether to trade Porter in order to better balance their team.

"They've reached out to me and said it's all noise," Porter said after Monday's win by the Nuggets. "There's nothing serious going on."

"They have no desire to move me right now. But I also know they wouldn't tell me if they wanted to move me."

Ok, at least he's aware it could be lip service.

I think that Denver knows that Jamal needs support in the backcourt. Christian is good but he's not a secondary / tertiary playmaking option, and he can slide to the 3 in the right lineups. If they move MPJ for a star wing, they have cover at his position with some of the young forwards. None of them are a good as Michael obviously, but they could survive it better than depleting their guard rotation further.

So, Porter for DeRozan plus stuff? Maybe SAC sweetens by absorbing Nnaji for Lyles?
