Heat 'Don't Like Their Hand' In Jimmy Butler Trade Discussions

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Jan 5, 2025 10:27 pm

The Miami Heat have yet to receive any attractive trade offers for Jimmy Butler, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

"They've definitely gotten a lot of calls. The issue here is that most of the offers are not that attractive to the Heat. And that doesn't surprise them because a month ago they heard some calls on Jimmy Butler and then they came out with that statement that they weren't going to trade him because they really didn't like any of the offers.

Right now you're seeing a lot of teams testing just how low they might be able to buy Jimmy Butler for," said Windhorst on SportsCenter.

Windhorst added that the Suns were the exception and continue to pursue a trade for Butler. With the Heat uninterested in taking back Bradley Beal's contract, a potential trade would have to include three or four teams.

Windhorst added that he does see Butler eventually getting traded.

"It's going to be a lot of talking, a lot of complicated maneuvering. I think Butler will eventually get moved but the Heat don't like their hand right now at all," added Windhorst.

Outside of the Warriors and maybe the Lakers, I don't see a team that makes sense that would want to part with much to get him. Teams with young players would be risking their future and their chemistry. Warriors make the most sense I think, but if it's just one team making an offer, Miami's in a tough spot.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

And all the mentioned teams are hard-capped. Making it mandatory for at least a 3rd team to join and take on an unwanted contract to make the deal work.

I think miami being two faced here pushed Jimmy to ask for the trade they came out and said they wouldn't trade him only after they saw what was out there and didn't like it.. So Jimmy is like well you won't extend me and now you won't even trade me and lied about not wanting to trade me only because the offers were bad.. They obviously shouldn't take back bad money but if the contract is expiring there is no reason not to make the trade at this point they aren't going to get anything good back for Butler..

Heat Culture! will fix all of this. And if there isn't a player that embodies the culture more than Jimmy Butler I don't know who does! The heat will get Butler and they will get him cheap

Nobody in their right mind wants to stick up for Miami, they are douchebags, but up until this week what exactly did miami do wrong? They don't want to extend an old player for silly money and they don't want to trade him, rather they want him to play out his current contract?

Heat get:
Draymond Green
Keldon Johnson

Warriors get:
Jimmy Butler

Spurs get:
Andrew Wiggins

Add a few picks here and there and you got a deal.

He signed a contract to play basketball for them for 'x' years, and is now refusing to finish that contract.
