Suns To Replace Bradley Beal, Jusuf Nurkic In Starting Lineup Amidst 'Tension' In Locker Room

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jan 6, 2025 6:04 am

The Phoenix Suns are set to replace Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic in the starting lineup starting Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Chris Haynes.

Ryan Dunn and Mason Plumlee will start in place of Beal and Nurkic.

Haynes added that there is also "tension" within the Suns locker room.

"There is also tension in that locker room. I'm told certain players are unsure of their roles and frustrated with how they're being used. The coaching staff, they're still trying to figure things out.

So this situation will be something to monitor moving forward," added Haynes.

The Suns are reportedly interested in trading for Jimmy Butler, though the Heat do not want to take back Beal's contract.

Interesting. The lineup changes might actually help the Suns on the court(more defense in the starting lineup and more scoring punch off the bench now), but they are almost certainly increasing whatever "tension" presently exists in the locker room by throwing two high-salary disgruntled vets into the mix.

Maybe it's part of a Phoenix master plan to get Beal salty enough to waive his no-trade clause...

If I'm Beal, I look forward to the bench role because that NTC isn't getting waived.

If I’m Bradley Beal I waive my no trade clause to go to south beach and that’s my last stop til my contract expires

There is clearly a coaching/leadership void in PHX. Not the case in MIA.

I'm having a harder time caring about the NBA carousel. Only compelling news is trades and now they're near impossible. Sorry. Being grumpy but giving my 2 pennies

South Beach doesn't want him.
