Mavericks Have Made Daniel Gafford Available In Trade Talks

Nico Harrison hasn't been afraid to make big moves in his tenure as Dallas Mavericks GM. Last year, Harrison's trades for P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford helped spurred an NBA Finals run.

Now, Harrison is in the market for a perimeter defense. In that search, Dallas has made Gafford available in trade talks.

The sixth-year center has two seasons left on his contract. Gafford makes $13.4 this season and $14.4 million next season. This season, Gafford has averaged 11.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. He's 17 games this season, mostly when second-year player Dereck Lively II has been out with injuries.

I'm pretty sure this report is missing important context. I can't imagine Dallas just having him available in general. That was likely only considered for a very specific player in return.
