Gregg Popovich is continuing his rehab after suffering a stroke in November, but it is not yet clear if he will return to the bench for the San Antonio Spurs this season. Popovich turns 76 next week and expressed a desire to return to the job when releasing a statement in December.
“His improvement continues to get better, (but) I don’t know that we have any way to judge the clock,” Buford said in Paris on Wednesday. “Predicting what’s to come is just a function of where Pop’s rehab goes.”
Mitch Johnson has served as interim head coach in place of Popovich.
