Mavs Approached One Other Team About Luka Doncic Trade Two Weeks Ago

The Dallas Mavericks approached "at least" one other team about the possibility of trading for Luka Doncic two weeks ago, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.

The Mavs reportedly offered Doncic to the Lakers "a few days ago" before completing the deal.

It was also reported that the Mavs were only looking at acquiring Anthony Davis in a deal involving Doncic.

Doncic, who did not request to be dealt, was not made publicly available for a trade.

No way any other team was offered him and they didn’t take the deal immediately. I have real doubt the Lakers even said we need to think about this and waited to pull the trigger.

They probably asked for SGA, Jokic, or maybe Tatum or Anthony Edwards.

The only teams and players that really make sense.

Maybe, maybe, maybe they approached the Cavs asking for Mitchell and Mobley, or the Bucks asking for Giannis, and these teams didn’t want to risk ruining a good thing because Luka was livid and wouldn’t re-sign, and now they’re left high and dry after a season and a half of constant shenanigans.

It's because it didn't happen. The NBA didn't expect people to question them for collusion, so they're covering their asses right now.

Based on the Mavs line of reasoning, the other team they approached was Brooklyn for a deal centered around Ben Simmons. After three attempts to initiate negotiations, Nets GM Sean Marks was quoted as saying “Call me again and I’m calling the F****** cops! This isn’t funny.”

Yup. This is completely made up. Either by the league to cover up the cheating or by the Mavs to make themselves look less stupid.

I don't believe they called around to even 1 other team.
