Joel Embiid, Sixers Consulting Doctors About Alternatives For Knee

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Feb 23, 2025 11:32 pm

Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers are consulting with doctors and considering alternatives for the center's injured knee. Embiid suffered swelling in his left knee after Saturday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Treatment options, including injections, have not resulted in any improvement for Embiid.

Surgery may be an option for Embiid, which would like result in him missing the remainder of the season. The former MVP will undergo further testing early this week to determine the best course of action moving forward.

The Sixers are 20-36 on the season and in 12th place in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia entered Sunday 1.5 games out of the final spot in the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament. Offseason addition Paul George is also playing through injuries, including getting painkilling injections to play.

Honestly, just shut it down and get him surgery if it will really help. That will give him plenty of time to recover and be ready for the upcoming season. They are already way out of the playoffs anyway and him trying to play is only more potential for him to get more injured.

Wow, Joel is maxed-out through 28/29, he may become the most expensive towel waiver in NBA history.

Hope Sixers front-office was smart enough to have insurance on that contract ….

Alternatives? How about a knee replacement...

Shut Embiid and George down, and tank. Pray for a top 2 pick.

They just need to Chris Bosh him and get him medically retired against his will.

I was going to say amputate but that's not nice, lol.
