It’s crazy to think that Tim Connelly was going to let him walk, until generally hands off Glen Taylor made that famous phone call, telling TC to “get it [extension] done.”
dont think they will pay him more than 25m per year, so maybe 5yr 108mil , but 4mil 108 mil seems like a stretch
It's a weak class
Ingram and Caruso already got the trade and extend.
Lebron had already demonstrated he was staying before Luka.
Kyrie will decline his option and be immediately max offered by Dallas
FVV, Wagner, Jaquez all held by team options.
Kuminga, Giddey, Cam Thomas, and Davion Mitchell all restricted
A bunch of ancient guys (some with player options):
Horford, CP3, Russ, Middleton, Lopez, Batum, Gordon, Lowry, Tucker, Ingles etc...
At one time Ben Simmons was thought of as a meaningful part of this future class but washed a long time ago.
So who is the competition for Naz cap space money?
Harden (PO)
Randle (PO)
Markkanen
Turner
Collins (PO)
Capela
DLo
Caris
Brogdon
Portis (PO)
Ty Jerome
Bruce Brown
DFS (PO)
Some stand and shoot guys -- Oubre, Hardaway, Kennard, Connaughton
Others but no one who notably stands out beyond any of these names
There aren't many cap space teams but Naz is 25 and hasn't been hurt or had big decline years like Markkanen & Collins both did.
It does seem to be a prime situation for him to opt out.
